These courses are taught on a rotating schedule to allow students to progress through the animal science pathway within the agriculture department. Both courses allow students to experience agricultural education through the implementation of the 3-ring model by participating in classroom instruction, Supervised Agricultural Experience projects, and the National FFA Organization.
VETERINARY SCIENCE (2020-2021) - This college preparatory course provides an in depth study of animal behavior, the anatomy and physiology of a variety of animal species, causes and prevention of common diseases of both small and large animals, and provides student with knowledge of advanced animal principles in the field of Veterinary Science. Students will have the opportunity to explore the veterinary industry through hands-on experiences focusing on both large and small animals. This course qualifies for “g” elective credit for UC entrance.
ANIMAL ANATOMY (2021-2022) - This college preparatory course focuses on mammalian production, anatomy, physiology, reproduction, nutrition, respiration, and genetics of animals. This course is driven through the inquiry process which allows students to explore all aspects of the animal science industry through exploration and hands-on experiences.
