This upper division science course encourages students to explore the physical and chemical properties of soil as well as the relationship between soil, plants, animals, and agricultural practices. Students follow an inquiry based process to develop their own research questions and labs. Students build on their understanding of agriculture practices to make connections to soils importance in plant and animal production. Students enrolled in this course will be integrated into the 3 ring model of agricultural education through classroom instruction, Supervised Agricultural Experience projects, and the National FFA Organization.
